Zupa Kat

Super is probably the only way to describe Kat Francois, she is a one-woman roadshow of poetry, comedy, acting, youth work and more, and the name of her production company Zupakat, really is no exaggeration. Fresh off her first full-length, main-stage comedy show Kat’s Got Your Tongue, at her usual stomping ground, Theatre Royal Stratford, Kat is currently preparing for her stand-up performances at the Camden Fringe in late August.

Here, Rhianna Robinson reviews Kats Got Your Tongue, and keep on the lookout for an exclusive interview with Kat, here on peppergrain in the very near future.

‘Going to see Kat Francois is something everyone, who enjoys good comedy, should be able to say they’ve done. Kat’s performances, in Kat’s Got Your Tongue had me in stitches –  she even warns the asthmatic to have their pump at hand. Kat’s ability to infuse humour into everyday situations is pure genius, her stories from experiences as a Sex Ed teacher to cock-blocking carers had me whooping with laughter. Not one to hold back, Kat kept it 110% real, I often found myself gasping and asking my friend “Is she allowed to say that!?” From her Reyonce ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ skit to the epically hilarious Grenadian Granny it is guaranteed belly laughs all round and I’m looking forward to seeing Kat on the big screen one day, real talent like that needs to be televised!’
