Snooooooooop Dub!

Guten Morgen lovely people of the internet, how about some cracking new music to get your day started right? Our favourite west-coast rapper Snoop Dogg tweeted a link this weekend to the great video above – Goldie Loc of Eastsidaz fame doing gangster dubstep. Yes you heard correctly, a new genre is born where the hard electro bass of dub meets the hardcore lazy flow of gangster rap. We’ve been aware that America has been loving a slightly danc-ier style of music for a while now, all David Guetta‘s popularity is down to this – but a massive step further from Snoop’s Sweat, ‘Throw Ya Dubs Up: Dubstep LA Volume 2’, the mixtape Snoop is hosting alongside Mistajam, due in October, promises to be a proper fusion of genres rather than just remixes.

The mixtape follows on from 2009’s Cashmere Agency Presents Mr. Grustle & Tha Russian’s Dubstep LA: Embrace The Renaissance Vol. 1 which was mixed by south-London grime and dubstep DJ Plastician and featured Benga amongst other top names and also included Chase and Status’ infectious Snoop Dogg Millionaire. If dubstep isn’t really your cup of tea, I still urge you to take a listen, its quite hard not to get caught up in this track and honestly I am very excited for what might be coming our way in 30 or so days.

What do you think of the video? Do you think Snoop and dubstep mix? Do you think its just a bandwagon music fad? let us know in the comments!
