Fingers dance across the keyboard, palms beat the cajon, the sounds of the acoustic guitar and bass strings being plucked resonates around the room, and three young men begin to croon into microphones, their 90s R&B vocals giving you Krept & Konan’s smash hit, ‘Certified’, laced with Silk and Ginuwine… This is Grime and UK Rap like you’ve never heard it before.

This summer, ‘Live Lounge’ meets ‘Fire in The Booth’ as Peppergrain (producers of the hit online shows, Hardest Bars and Unfamous) team up with Link Up TV once more, to showcase the hottest UK singers, as they fuse the biggest Grime and UK Rap tracks with R&B, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Neo-Soul and more, in their brand new show, Sing My Bars. Ed Sheeran captivated mainstream and underground audiences alike with his covers of popular US Hip Hop tracks, O.T. Genasis’s ‘I’m In Love With The Coco’ and Fetty Wap’s ‘Trap Queen’. One Direction’s, Zayn Malik, has followed in Ed’s footsteps with a cover of Rae Sremmurd’s, ‘No Type’. Sing My Bars follows this formula with an authentic British twist, paying homage to our own home-grown heavy hitters -presenting alternative UK R&B to a new generation of music fans.

The current UK grime and rap crop are nailing the groundwork right now, and may soon take our whole scene into new places.” -Sian Anderson for Noisey, Music By VICE

With Grime dominating the UK urban music charts, singers are often swept under the rug. Sing My Bars is designed to shine the spotlight on them whilst celebrating the scene’s biggest tracks from artists such as Stormzy, Krept & Konan, Skepta and more.
